So i'm finally going to act like a rational being, accept the sunk cost and move on - i'm getting rid of my warhammer miniatures (well, they are fornally leaving my possession and going into storage at my parents' house). I can't quite believe that i have kept them close at hand for so long. So much money wasted for almost no gain (even including personal enjoyment). Now i only have to decide the future of my comic book collection. I'll keep some items, but the rest will likely be in need of another home sooner rather than later.

A content free blog had to appear sometime... My iPad has its first scratch. Just beside the data port... Oh well, it had to happen sometime. I have been a little sick of late so i haven't been out for a run or a swim in over a week. Hopefully i'll still be in decent shape when i get back out into it later this week. I'm also going to try and last a week without junk food... Not looking forward to skipping the daily chocolate bar! I have a uni essay due in just over 3 weeks and i only just started researching. A last minute effort will be enoug to see me through, but i had been hoping to be more proactive this time around. Eh, old habits die hsrd (if at all!). That's about it, really. I'm also applying for a promotion and i have pretty much rushed my way through the tv series Scrubs in a little over a week, but neither represent anything new.

http://www.finance.gov.au/publications/ict-review/summary.html#a4 - see point 5 under ICT spend (and note that the recommendations were accepted in full) Now have a look at this - http://electioncostings.gov.au/2010/08/02/gov23-remove-funding-quarantined-under-the-gershon-reforms-for-ict-spending-across-government/ It seems that the public service will be living with the same ict systems for sometime yet.

- I'm currently trying to decide whether I should apply for another job. The competition for the position would be fierce, but it's a public service role that would a) provide great experience for the future and b) suit me quite well at this time given that outside of work I have no demands on my time;
- I somehow managed to land a distinction for my second uni unit (after a fluked credit in the first unit). Thankfully the current and third unit is quite interesting so I should be able to easily dive in and get started on that 5000 word essay... Applying a new or alternative economic theory to policy. Should be interesting;
- My flute playing abilities haven't exactly progressed over the previous couple of months. I can still play Botany Bay and Greensleeves without too many errors, but my current challenge (mario theme, followed by the sorceror's apprentice) will prove to be a tad more difficult;
- The exercise regime continues. I can now run 7km without much hassle (approx 7km in 33 minutes last Saturday, which isn't too bad for a phat bastard like me) and I can manage reasonable distances in the pool without fear of drowning (but I always need to swim 400-500m in 50-100m bursts to warm up). This means that I'm now relatively fit...
- Which leads to a point about a hike! A Blue Mountains hike in the last weekend in September could work well... For me, anyway (uni assessment due the week before, day off on the Monday due to an ACT long weekend). Just to get it out there, a part of me wants to give the Grose River hike a second go but unfortunately I think that this can only be managed if we can arrange a lift from Yarramundi or Grose Wold on the Sunday afternoon (or if we are willing to try a car shuffle, which would take hours). My main suggestion would be the Ruined Castle, which I think is a hike that we are all keen to try once again (I'm quite keen, in fact);
- Life with the iPad continues. Somewhat sadly, I now leave the iPad on the bed of a night for no other reason than to check the news sites if I happen to wake up before my alarm. Oh well, everyone else does it with their phone, so I guess that it isn't that bad; and
- Finally, I'm hoping to take more of an interest in football/soccer this season. Just how often I manage to make it up to Sydney for a match is an interesting and as yet uncosted option, but if anyone else would like to see Sydney FC play on a Saturday or Sunday, I'd be more than happy to join you.

Photos from the coast track (one of the group, the others from my single day effort) will appear shortly, I promise!
Looking at Boyter's yell (jakpak) made me think... Is Toohey's disposals really at its stock limit?
I picked up a gortex jacket on the weekend, and a proper fleece jacket (not the thin one that I normally use). Both are quite good, but with the climate likely to get warmer over time (cue debate)...
Anyway, I have an exam tomorrow morning. Macro. I think that I should fare well this time. If I don't... Failing the first unit. Hardly a good look.

NERD!
It sounds like your transporting them, rather than getting rod of them...
In otherwords, you're really just sending them on a holiday, they need a change of scnery which is fair enough.
Thats indeed nerdy if its true, which i'm going to assume it is
