Yes it has been a while since I did one of these "what I did on the weekend" aka "boyter is pandering to himself again. BTW if you run that word through a dictionary use the lower tastes definition, not the other ones.

So anyways lets being with the LAN, the photos of which can be seen below. Quite successful for Toohey and a win in my opinion as well. Im not going to go into it too much since those who read this blog were there anyway, but here goes with a list of highlights.

1. Arriving before the heat began, and then promptly ducking off for a swim in the ocean which was awesome.
2. Poida! (for those not in the know he has been hinting at coming to a LAN since 1999)
3. Free beer!
4. Rune, which is always fun and amusing to play.
5. JKII. Possibly my favourite game of all time and one what I am happy to play all day long.
6. The insane amount of fog on the way back.

So yes was quite good. Now on to the weekend. Saturday consisted of... you know its interesting. I was discussing this with Lisa last night and we cannot remember what we did. Suffice to say based on the heat odds are we were inside under the A/C for a majority of the day. Sunday was a little more interesting. I rocked into work to catch up on some tasks Sad but left at 12. Lisa and I then decided to visit the fish markets. Picked up some prawns (crystal bay ones too!) and rocked back. Thankfully it wasn't too hot and I broke my anti drinking policy by having two ice cold Coronas while eating the prawns with some fresh bread knot rolls with butter, avacardo salad and tomato basil mixed with balsamic vinegar and olive oil. Quite a good feed actually.

So after this Toohey and I arranged to duke it out playing Command and Conquer 3 over the net. I had to lookup my EA id password thing but thankfully this wasn't a huge issue. I havent played the game in quite a while so it took a bit to get back into it. Thankfully the skills did not desert me and I managed to scrape a few wins. One of the more spectacular losses was when we adjusted my handicap to 80% (higher % means less hit points on your little dudes). Toohey then proceeded to rape me using a nailed baseball bat. The kill count alone says it all. Toohey managed to kill 447 of my guys, while I managed to kill 17 of his. Rather a large arse whooping. Thankfully the next game we reduced the handicap to 40% which was still a bit out. Quite good though and never got too slow or anything. Looks like a LAN game winner.

So yeah, if anyone has C&C:3 and wants a game comment below. I also have Kanes Wrath if we want to try that.

BTW Toohey im thinking 45% is probably a better handicap.

BTW Toohey, I have Teamspeak somewhat set up (dunno need someone to test it with). Will send you the details so we can test.

posting this from a wii

Josh
Sounds good.

ps, even with a 45% handicap in my favour I will lose! That said, at least I'll be able to put up more of a fight in the future

boyter
Well the idea is to get it slightly even... 50% was bloody difficult, and 40% was a little too easy so I recon 45% might be the go.

boyter
Right tested teamspeak out then, seems to work ok... anyone ready to try it? Just MSN me for details.

Also on the way back we managed to get lost after 2 mins driving ending up nearly back where we started.
That was quite amusing

boyter
Ah yes I had forgotten that. The brain was in a confused state following the consumption of copious amounts of V a beer and sleep deprivation.
